Gumshoes: your mission today is to build a world for the greatest thief to ever live: Carmen Sandiego. Using the open sandbox video game of Minecraft you will create your own version of the beloved 90’s television show. Your game will follow the structure of the show, and build an interactive television set similar to those on Carmen Sandiego. The set will be a multi-room puzzle game to take your contestants around a country to find Carmen Sandiego. Using the Redstone and customizable features in Minecraft, you will build a button system where you will ask questions about a foreign country’s language, geography, history and current events. If they choose right answers they can move to the next room and one step closer to catching the international thief! But Ms. Sandiego does not make things easy, and neither should you. You will gain a robust knowledge of your country in order to create challenging, rich questions for your players. To assist your contestants you will bring the questions and country to life using Minecraft tools. Your game will include five rooms with their own questions and visual aides. Your final product will be a recording of a contestant playing your detective puzzle with you narrating their adventure. You have your mission Gumshoes, the question is which one of you will earn the title of “sleuth?”
