Description

The Challenger: AEDs (automated external defibrillator) are extremely important and should be readily accessible at all public locations. In cardiac arrest victims, if an AED is used within the first minute, the chance of survival is around 90%. With each passing minute, the chance of survival decreases by about 10%. This Challenge asks student teams to a) research existing AED placement in your community (or nearby); b) use community data to analyze the map; and c) create a new map that proposes optimal distribution of AEDs as based on your data collection and map analysis.
