Poetry Laid Bare (LA)

Creative digital project that asks students to re-train their relationship to poetry from the eye, to the ear. Percussion is involved!

The Project: Some literary forms defy media intervention. It can be argued that poetry is one of them. The reading, analysis, appreciation and understanding of poetry are premised on a quasi-sacred, unmediated (undigitized) relationship between the reader and the words of the poem. So, in this Meridian Stories Project, we are going to honor this relationship and go one step further: backwards. We are stripping the form of its visual referent and working only with the spoken word.
