Description

The Project: Congratulations! You have been invited to star in this week’s episode of your local PBS program, “Likeable and Local: Meals that Save the Planet”. The culinary program showcases members from around the community as they curate a locally grown, full course menu. This series has achieved popular ratings due to the show’s focus on the micro organic ingredients used (traveling no further than 200 miles from outside the community); the cost of the ingredients; and the creativity of the dish. The culinary program is divided into two segments: 1) Three course menu development; and 2) Single entrée submission (from the menu) that will be taste-tested. Your team must : 1) Research local, state and national food sources; 2) Design a menu based on the Challenge criteria; 3) Cook one of the courses; 4) Taste-test your course with three independent friends or family members; and 5) Create a 3 – 4 minute video that clearly communicates the menu and the research behind your menu design choices; documents your cooking process; and captures the taste-testing at the end of the process.
