Description

The Project: Branding something – a product, a company, an idea – is a complex task. Before you can even begin the process of articulating a brand, you need to explore and research that topic all the way to its core. Only then can you begin to find the language that can adequately capture the essence of the topic…or product or idea. In this Meridian Minute, you are tasked with creating a brand around an assigned topic and then recording a 60 second audio promo marketing the assets of this brand. The topic could be almost anything you are studying. For example: a) current political policy; b) a mathematical theorem; c) biological species of plant or animal; or d) a book or poem. The shift you need to make is to look at the topic as a …product: something with clear, definitive parameters. Specifically, you are asked to a) define the product; b) explain how and why that product came to be (the purpose); and c) feature the applications of that product in the real world (benefits). The final piece of your branding is a tagline.
